4月23日，全國雙擁模范城(縣)命名大會在北京召開，大會宣讀了關于命名全國雙擁模范城(縣)的決定。重慶16個區被命名為全國雙擁模范城。
這16個區是：沙坪壩區、江北區、江津區、渝北區、萬州區、渝中區、大足區、九龍坡區、武隆區、大渡口區、涪陵區、璧山區、南岸區、開州區、潼南區、巴南區。(新重慶-重慶日報記者 張莎)
