It is clear that on average, European nationsincreasedtheir renewable energy usage,whileSlovakia and Austriaexperienced declines.Besides, Greece was the only country thatconsistently had lower level ofconsumption than the European average.

The European average of renewable energy usage in transportincreased marginallyfrom 4.2% in 2009 to 4.9% in 2010.This rising trend was also observed inPoland, Spain, and Greece.Among them, Spainsaw the most significant rise,withits renewable energy consumptionreaching the EU averageby 2010. Poland’s usagesurpassedthe average levelin both years,climbing slightlyfrom 5% to 6%during the given period.In contrast, Greececonsistently had the lowest figures,withits sustainable energy consumptiongrowing modestly to2% in 2010.

However, the remaining three countriesexperienced a different patternin their consumption of renewable energy.Althoughthe energy consumption in Slovakiadropped significantlyto 7.8% in 2010, ittopped the listin both years. The figure in Austriaalsodecreased,falling remarkably to5.1% in 2010,slightly abovethe EU average for the same year.Meanwhile, Francemaintained stableusage at 6.1% across both years.
