“推出新款MG5是因為十萬級燃油A級車仍然有400多萬的銷量規模。”這是從安亭又回到安亭上任剛剛一個月的上汽乘用車常務副總經理俞經民給大家的回答。雖然如今中國市場的電動車、插混車型的滲透率在不斷提高，但燃油車并不會被徹底取代，最終會以一個合適的市場份額與新能源車共存，兩者并不是矛盾的對立面。

在10萬以內的燃油轎車市場，的確已經很久沒有像新一代MG5這樣有活力的車型出現了，除了定位A級轎跑車之外，此次新一代MG5在價格上也充滿了驚喜。全系三款車型一口價6.59-7.59萬元，并提供終身免費基礎保養、動力總成終身免費質保、至高6000元置換補貼、終身免費基礎流量和日供低至30元的60期超長貸。可以說卷的是同行的價格，但給用戶換來的是滿滿的松弛感。

之所以說新一代MG5極具活力，因為首先MG作為一個全球品牌，始終定位于“全球轎跑世家”，而國內10萬以內市場年輕人選擇第一輛車時，都是一些過于老成需要妥協的車型，穩重有余而活力不足。此次新一代MG5采用了大尺寸直瀑式運動格柵輔以高亮飾條，配合動感的筋線，給用戶帶來了強烈的張揚個性。全系標配的LED大燈繼承了MG品牌經典的“獵瞳”設計，1842mm的車寬和下壓的引擎蓋設計營造了更具運動感的低趴姿態。

全新一代“藍芯”1.5T高功率發動機最大功率133kW，采用ePower Control電控渦輪技術，不僅能夠有效縮短增壓響應時間，而且1500轉即可輸出最大扭矩285N·m，并維持至4000轉寬裕扭矩平臺。

全新一代7速濕式雙離合變速箱是全球首創的三腔蜂巢科技雙離合變速器。

在平順性進一步提升的同時，最高傳動效率達到97%，并經過500萬公里嚴苛測試。換擋撥叉執行響應速度提升至80ms，摩擦片耐熱性能400度，兼顧了高性能與耐久性表現。

除了性能表現同級領先，新一代MG5還是同級唯一搭載XDS彎道動態控制系統的車型，配合ESP-PRO電動助力轉向系統，可以充分抑制轉向不足，提供PDC側風轉向補償、TCS轉向力矩補償和三種轉向力度可調，進一步提升出彎速度，為駕駛者帶來更有操控樂趣的駕駛體驗。此外同級最高的25866N·m/deg車身扭轉剛度和高剛性車身也在保證彎道行駛性能的同時，提供更安全的車身強度。
