惟典空間效果圖 Rendering of WD Art Space

惟典空間將于2023年11月6日啟幕。空間選址靜安區活力四射的藝術街區，坐落于景色宜人、歷史豐富的蘇州河畔，毗鄰Fotografiska影像藝術中心、沒頂畫廊、上海蘇富比空間、UCCA Edge、Vanguard畫廊等重要美術館與文化機構。空間面積275平方米，除辦公室及會晤區外，更設有寬闊的L型展廳，高度達4-5.5米，以舉辦展覽、文化活動及多元的創意項目。

成立十余年來，惟典臻藏一直致力于推動和支持本土及國際現當代藝術的收藏、傳播與發展，出品了“藝術市場通訊”、《中國藝術財富白皮書》、《天才的特寫：愛德華·蒙克傳》等一系列行業標桿性項目；并為私人藏家、非營利機構、家族辦公室及各類企業伙伴提供亞洲頂級的藝術顧問服務。隨著惟典空間的落成，未來惟典臻藏將持續以前瞻性的視野和專業的知識，激活藝術為人們帶來的多元潛能。

惟典空間首展“積水成淵”將通過精選的枝史織、方君璧、何田、黃宇興、李易紋、馬軻、Eleanor Ray、宋琨、蘇予昕、 Bao Vuong、 韋嘉、肖江、顏文樑（按姓氏英文字母順序）等藝術家橫跨百年創作時間的繪畫作品，呈現“水”這一元素及其變體在20及21世紀美學中的廣泛闡釋。 展覽主題引自荀子《勸學》，這則經典以水為喻，形容“匯聚和積累”于人的深刻意義。 惟典空間以之揭開序幕，旨在呼應藝術收藏作為一種文化行動的思辨性、交互性和開放性。

WD Art Space is delighted to announce its opening in Shanghai on November 6, 2023. Sitting alongside the historic Suzhou River, the space locates itself in the vibrant Jing'an art hub that is home to the city's major museums and cultural institutions, including Fotografiska, MadeIn Gallery, Shanghai Sotheby's Space, UCCA Edge, and Vanguard Gallery. The 275-square-meter facility, together with office and meeting room, will feature an L-shape hall with a height of 4 to 5.5 meters, to host exhibitions, education programs and various creative projects.

Over its decade-long journey, WD Arts & Collections' unwavering priority has been to drive the collection, communications and development of modern and contemporary art locally and internationally, through a range of widely recognized publications, including Art Market Journal, China Art & Wealth White Paper, and Edvard Munch: Close-up of A Genius, and a full suite of comprehensive services delivered to private collectors, non-profit institutions, family offices and many more enterprise-partners. As the debut of WD Art Space opens new possibilities, WD Arts & Collections will continue to activate the diverse potentials in art, with its strategic foresight and unrivaled expertise.

The inaugural show of WD Art Space, Let the Waters Meet, will tie together paintings by artists, Shiori Eda, Fang Junbi, He Tian, Huang Yuxing, Li Yiwen, Ma Ke, Eleanor Ray, Song Kun, Su Yu-Xin, Bao Vuong, Wei Jia, Xiao Jiang, and Yan Wenliang (in alphabetical order by last name). These works, responding to a common theme, Water, have been conceived over a time span of more than a century, which allows us to form a wide web of aesthetic interpretations of the element and its manifold variants. Taking its title from a quote by the late-Warring-States-period philosopher, Xunzi, who uses the overflow of waters to metaphorize accumulation, the show also presents WD's response to the reflective, interactive, and open nature of art collection as a cultural action.
